Dr. Gerald Geldzahler has returned from a hospital-based surgical practice to private practice, and started Orosurgery, LLC to provide the full scope of the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery with emphasis on dental implant reconstruction.
Dr. Geldzahler is an experienced, board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He spent much of his career as an educator and as a hospital based oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He was the Director for the New York Medical College Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program for six years, and spent ten years as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., which is a large teaching hospital and one of the largest trauma centers in the Northeast.
He has treated complex facial trauma, multiple pathological conditions both benign and malignant, and has performed all types of reconstructive surgery of the maxillofacial region, including surgery for cleft lip and palate and multiple craniofacial syndromes affecting the oral and facial region.
Dr. Geldzahler has been recognized for his surgery on neonates with congenital deformities and associated breathing problems. He has opened the airways of many infants, including those born prematurely. He continues to treat craniofacial deformities and cleft lip and palate patients
In addition, he has both directed and placed thousands of dental implants, and has taught others multiple procedures related to implants. Dr. Geldzahler has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on various topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
